Private Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours are
A Great Option
During the Coronavirus (Covid-19)

To fly or not to fly during the Coronavirus pandemic, that’s the question.

Yes, helicopter tours, in my opinion, are safe. Especially considering the precautions we've taken, ranging from mandatory masks to guest-and-staff temperature checks.

There are two ways to try a helicopter tour: 1) per-person; 2) and private.

Per person is just that: You purchase a seat for each person in your group. Private, by contrast, means you buy all the seats in the aircraft.

Helicopters have a total of 6 seats.

Per-person means you fly with other people. Private means you fly with ONLY with your people (e.g. friends, family, business associates, etc.).

It's more expensive to fly private because you are guaranteed the entire helicopter

Sounds obvious but let me explain...

For example, a family or a friend-group of five (5) people book a per-person tour and assume they will get the entire helicopter for themselves.

Not true.

Bear in mind that helicopter tours are popular and sell out. To optimize seating, all helicopter companies including ours split groups between helicopters. It’s unfortunate but it’s a fact.

Of course, we do all we can to keep groups of five or more people together but we can’t guarantee it. So if flying together as a group is important to you, I strongly recommend you make your booking private.

Private tours have other advantages.

Per-person tours assign you a fixed seat and you can't change seats. Fly private and you can.

So, for example, you fly in the back of the helicopter to the Grand Canyon. On the way back, you want to sit in the front. You can do this on a private tour.. You can’t if you booked a per-person tour.

See how helicopter seating is configured.

Yes, you can buy a front-seat upgrade if you fly per-seat but it’s not guaranteed. You’ll only know if you can get it at check-in and if it is you’ll pay $50 extra to get it.

Private also gets you one-on-one with the pilot.

Each person gets a headset equipped with a microphone that’s connected to the digital communication system. From there you’ll have direct communication with your group and pilot. Think of it like a group chat with friends. On per-seat flights, you’ll most likely get a pre-recorded narrative and if it’s not you’ll be dumped into an unmoderated chat with strangers.

Let's now circle back to the Coronavirus.

We've taken drastic steps to stop the virus. Temperature checks, mandatory masks (staff and travelers), complete aircraft de-sanitization, and so much more is in place to protect your health.

Check out this video for a complete list of what we are doing to protect your health during a Grand Canyon helicopter tour.

To date, these precautions are working, which is why we are confidently offering per-seat bookings. However, if you want more control over who flies with you, fly private. In this way you'll know the health status of everyone in your group prior to, during and after your tour.
